My name is Carlos. I arrived into Singapore from Spain in 2009, with me just a suitcase and a head full of dreams. I fell in love with this little island and their people and decided to start this blog in the year of ox, my year.

This project aims to shed a bit more light on certain financial instruments every regular John and Jane Doe can leverage to get closer to financial independence. At the same time it will help me keep track on my financial goals.

I started picking stocks at very early age thanks to my father’s influence. I experimented with high leveraged financial instruments and lost my fair share of money. It took me some time to finally understand that the only way for a regular person to make consistent profits over a lifetime is by simply not trying to time the market.
